A band recently getting steam online right now is VIOLENT IMPULSE, having recently releasing a cover of the Australian RAC legends Fortress on Substack, it looks like they've gotten a bunch of SHARP panties into a bunch...which is definitely a good sign for things to come!
As of now, the tapes from KICK TO KILL RECORDS (show some support) are sold out so you must buy their demo from their Bandcamp. I got to say my personal favorite from this demo has got to be the track called “Time”, however the other two tracks “Here to Stay” and “Line of Fire” shred and rip absolutely just as much.
I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to ask Violent Impulse a few questions for an interview. It is a great honor to interview Mr. Clean of Violent Impulse.
Nationalism is a term that carries different meanings to different people. How would you define nationalism in the context of your band and your personal beliefs? To me its being proud of your race, heritage, where you come from, stuff like that. It's a very important part of this movement and lifestyle.
How did the Violent Impulse come together, and what was the original vision behind your music? Originally my friends and I just wanted to make some good good HxC influenced Oi! politics were pretty in the centre, always been anti-commie. But as time goes on shit happens, people change and now we play RAC and we are definitely not aligned with the “centre” and are militantly against the left.
Are there any particular experiences, personal or collective, that have shaped your views or the direction of your band? Oh yeah, tons. All lessons learned from not picking a side and thinking most people are your friend. Being forced to be around “humans” and their politics and virtue signalling would drive any normal person man. Doxxing people over their own personal beliefs and opinions while advocating for communism and degeneracy is a crazy look.
What can fans expect from Violent Impulse in the coming months or years? Are you working on any new projects or albums? Live shows? We just put out that Commie Scum cover by Fortress. We are doing another cover song for this comp for ADS (American Defence Skinheads). Then we we will a full length out. We wanna play shows again. It's possible.
How do you envision the future of Oi! / RAC music? Do you think it will continue to grow or evolve in the coming decades? I have high hopes for it to come back around to the real shit. Do I think it'll happen soon? Possibly not until people stop being afraid to make this music and speak their minds. I don't consider the SHARP lefty commie side of all this Oi! real skinhead shit. They're hopeless and lost. They have no power except the power we allow them to have. Be smart, be tactical, and attack with extreme prejudice.
What are some bands or albums that have been a foundational influence on Violent Impulse? Any new recent musical influences musically? No Remorse “See You in Valhalla” demo, Skrewdriver, Fortress, Embattled, Birthrite, Wellington Arms.
Where are you guys located geographically? Does the geographic area of where you are located have any influence on your music or ideology? We are all spread out now, originally all located in Denver, but people got doxxed, shit went down and we all decided to move out of that hell hole. Two original members left but have been replaced.
To anyone who is new to the skinhead culture, what would you say to them? What should they know or understand first and foremost? Don't be fooled by cowards. Not everyone is your friend. Figure out your very own way and find people who share similar beliefs. Tribe up, train, say everything with your chest. And know above all this shit isn't a joke, and that “I used to be” means you never were. Cheers brother, 88.
Once again, it was a great honour to interview Mr. Clean from Violent Impulse, and we look forward to their track on the upcoming split with AMERICAN DEFENSE SKINHEADS and their upcoming full length LP.
